Walker, muso, reader, bird lover, gardener, nanna, survivor - aren’t we all.
Amaryllis - that’s what it’s called 😁 I couldn’t think of the name.

I thought they must be ducks- my eyesight isn’t sharp enough to pick them out clearly.

Looks like a Julia’s rose.

I love the changing colours. What are the white blobs in the 2nd/3rd photos?

A beautiful morning and first birds were 4 noisy miners blissing out in the sunshine on our walking track. Wings outspread to catch the rays, a bit of tail fluffing and none of them made a sound or flew off as we passed them. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

If the US government put as much effort into making life better for their constituents as they do in suing each other, you’d be an amazing country.

That's a remarkable colour. The rose on the left is called My Yellow.

It's a mutabilis rose - starts out as a paler apricot/pinky colour then deepens to that gorgeous pink.

A pleasure. I can't believe how many people have seen my roses.

I thought I heard a scrub wren and walked down the garden to check it out but sprung a small flock of crimson rosellas who were foraging under the ti trees and partly hidden by the buttercups. They flew off in a minor panic and took out the honours for #FirstBirdOfTheDay #WhatsYours

Stunning. What was the weather that followed like?

Great Tits on the feeders. Another lovely sunrise here.

That sounds very romantic and lovely, Sarah.

Yep, it's one of my favourites.

It’s a mutabilis rose at the end of its flowering. They start out as a pale yellowy peach colour and darken into the pink as they age. The bush looks as though it is a covered in butterflies in peak season.

The one on the left is called My yellow and it always matures into the gorgeous colours in the photo. On the right is Mutabilis.

A carolling magpie in the elm as I opened the front door. Far distant sounds of currawongs as the magpie flew off to a neighbour’s roof. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

Two sulphur crested cockatoos flying from the tall gums over the road, across my garden and down towards the valley, shrieking loudly all the way. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

I get inspired by Monty Don and rarely go into the garden without my dead headers😁

Maggie flew down to say hello as I went round dead heading this morning. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

A juvenile currawong hopping around on the lawn and making funny squawking noises. Mum was close by and so was the wattlebird who came diving in with a definite ‘get off my patch’ vibe. The currawongs conceded and flew off over the fence. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

An eastern spinebill whooshed past me as I gardened last week and landed on the long stem of the New Zealand flax plant where it balanced on the gigantic stem and feasted on the triffid-like flowers for a minute or two.

All quiet on the home front this morning although I did spot the tail end of the wattlebird as if flew off from the fuchsia again. First proper sight was a pair of pink galahs, beautifully hidden in the daisies and the long grass. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

I see it all from the kitchen window and the wattlebird is no more than 2-3 metres away. They are very elegant close up.
