Another guided walk in fabulous conditions 😂, this time for delegates at the Inter-island Environment Meeting #IIEM25 . We saw nothing of the surrounding hills 💚 but saw enough #peatland restoration, interesting fungi, mist and #sphagnum moss to keep everyone happy 💦🌿

The 2025 Island Games is taking place from 12 to 18 July 2025 in the Orkney Islands for the first time. Athletes have come from 24 island groups to compete in 12 sports including from St Helena, the Falklands and Gibraltar. Princess Royal attended the opening on Sunday.

Today is World Orca Day and I had the best start to this week b/c I spent yesterday following Hulk & Nott - 2 visiting bulls from Iceland. They swam right in at the bottom of the cliffs 🤩

After overwintering off the west coast of North Africa and the Bay of Biscay, these seabirds have returned to their breeding site. They will reunite with their mates and start preparing for the nesting season.

Did you know that ringed plovers' breeding season is about to start? Alderney has the last consistently breeding ringed plover population in the Channel Islands.

We'll continue to put up cordons on Platte Saline and Saye to protect these waders during their vulnerable time.
