I just got out of a school meeting with 40 immigrant parents talking about what’s gonna happen re: ICE.
Told parents to put together a safety plan for that circumstance.
Very depressing.
Kids are so anxious.
Hurts my heart.
at least in our county, the local schools/police aren’t going to help ICE

I think one of the hardest things after Helene is watching people leave and they have agonized as if this was a selfish choice they made instead of one of survival- it is a constant and changing grief and their choice to leave deserves no less support than a choice to stay
