Really sad to hear this Robin. I’d be very surprised if you’re not thinking along these lines, but leaving the Beeb & it’s current toxicity has paid off for Kermode & Mayo. And The News Agents. With the right backing I can imagine IMC as a podcast. I’d definitely listen. Anyway, more power to you.

The platforms however have clearly shown their reluctance to change behaviour or introduce moderation. They need a shot across the bow and this is doing the job. As a father of a 12 year old boy, I’m in favour of it. We’ve bought him a simple Nokia w/out socials. He won’t get a smartphone until 16.

Aligning energy prices with wind turbines is what the Telegraph want people to do. Electricity prices are what they are b/c of a market mechanism. Not b/c generators spun by the wind, or electrons stored in batteries are inherently more expensive. Sure you know this but thought it was worth stating.

I hope he’s getting some serious push-back on this brain-fart. He clearly doesn’t have any rational idea what real failure will look like if we don’t step up efforts, forget backsliding.

I shot an interview with him once… Before he transitioned from hilarious to arsehole.

Geeze… Expat Aussie here. I’ve seen Brexit. Trump. ScoMo against the odds. A false dawn with Biden. Now Cheetolini #2. Please don’t jinx it… If the years since 2016 have convinced me of anything, it’s that the worst can and will happen.

I teach occasionally at a film-school that has ducked the issue in any meaningful way, asking instead that students are honest about their use of AI. I take every opportunity to discuss with them the essential iterative nature of any creative process. But it’s so depressing.

Was walking the dog in Abney Park cemetery when it happened. Very eerie.

Jeeze Ketan I hope you’re right but I think we’re going to drown in a rising tide of slop. When the nukes land it will be a blessed relief.
