Trump vetted Hegseth in 2017; past allegations came up and scuttled a VA nom. This time Trump axed the normal vetting processes, hired a private firm, didn’t wait for a report, selected Hegseth. Now his team says it was blindsided. Uh, no—it got caught. This is why media needs curatorial journalism.
Trump’s transition team caught off guard by Hegseth allegation | CNN Politics

New from me: Senate Republicans are being asked to rubber stamp Trump’s clown show of nominees. Saying “no” to a bunch of dangerously unqualified weirdos should be the easiest test they face. (Emphasis on “should”)
Opinion | This should be the Senate GOP's easiest test of the Trump era
Senate Republicans are faced with the choice of whether to assert independence or confirm a string of unqualified nominees. But it really shouldn’t be a choice.

I will never understand how a billionaire, the richest man on Earth, spent millions to buy an election for ANOTHER billionaire, and told us that his policies would cause all of us non-billionaires “temporary hardship...”

...and the public didn't tell BOTH OF THEM to fuck off.

I am so sick and tired of the mantra it's the D's fault middle class Americans voted for Trump. No, it's not. Both my husband and I grew up in middle class families. Mine in construction, his were farmers. They taught us about having a moral compass. If you voted for Trump, you do not have one.
