June marks the beginning of hurricane season & NCAR scientists are studying hurricanes to see if they can predict active hurricane periods weeks in advance. Last year, our scientists ran a simulation called aquaplanet on MPAS to understand the relationship between Kelvin waves & hurricane formation.

Some airlines are pushing for their long-haul flights to be priced under CORSIA, a global aviation offsetting scheme.

That's because CORSIA offsets are cheap compared to the ETS.

But this would cost Europe BILLIONS in lost revenues, which could fuel the green transition 👇

We hate to say we told you so, but… we told you so.

Commissioner Serafin has debunked the myth that NGOs were “obliged” to lobby MEPs.

The EU Court of Auditors also confirmed: no misuse of funds, no undue lobbying.

Climate action is falling terribly short
Time to bury the 1.5C goal?

Absolutely not - why the 1.5 goal must prevail
(even when global warming exceeds 1.5C)

The 1.5°C Target for Global Warming Must Prevail | by Joeri Rogelj - Project Syndicate
Joeri Rogelj argues that the threshold established by the Paris agreement remains crucial – even if it is breached.

Net zero targets mean very little if we cheat with natural sinks. The IPCC's removal definition explicitly "excludes natural CO2 uptake not directly caused by human activities”, but passive natural sinks are increasingly used as offsets by countries and companies. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
