She is referencing the state but when the meaning is "those people are probably fronting a pedophile" I think it becomes clear it's a dogwhistle for "Jews" here.

Is there any halachatic reason why they could object to this based on remote studying when there was actual in-person observance, beit din, mikvah, or is this just another case of Reform and Conservative conversions being questioned by the Orthodox/Haredim who have power in this sphere?
