10 years ago, this video debuted. Death threats followed. In 1861, southern citizens seceded to protect slavery. US Army soldiers destroyed slavery, freed 4m from bondage and saved the USA. Now, the video has 35m views.
Slavery was immoral then. It’s immoral now.

Eisenhower wrote this note the night before D Day. Taking responsibility in case the invasion failed. “The troops … did all that bravery and devotion to duty could do. If any blame or fault attaches to the attempt, it is mine alone.”

@tyseidule.bsky.social I just finished read Robert E Lee ad Me. Thank you. I am taking my Texan great nephew to my state capital, Springfield Illinois this summer to visit Lincoln sites. His parents are concerned that he is not learning the full story of America at school. They may be right.

Happy Birthday U.S. Grant. The finest soldier to ever wear a US Army uniform. Destroyed Lee’s army, freed 4m from human bondage, destroyed slavery “the cause and pretext of the rebellion,” saved democracy and the United States of America.

Worth remembering that the Naming Commission was inclined to replace Bragg with Medal of Honor recipient MSGT Ray Benividez, but the community -- and especially Gold Star families -- wanted the name Ft. Liberty.
