Just so you know guys, we did what the patent describes 20 years ago in The Lord of the Creatures.
If any game dev needs protection from this I'll be happy to share the publicly available information about this wrongfully patented mechanic.

The Times called him a mercenary too. I sent in a complaint and they changed it but vatniks had already spread the screenshot all over X. It's bloody disgusting.
Dear Sir/Madam, As a Times subscriber, I am disgusted by Aliide Naylor's article in the Sunday Times referring to the British soldier captured by Russia, James Scott Rhys Anderson, as a 'mercenary'. He is a volunteer in Ukraine's International Legion, motivated by a sense of moral duty and not financial reward. His pay is considerably lower than what he could earn in the UK, no different to that of Ukrainian soldiers, and he has never offered himself for hire. You are reinforcing Russian propaganda which can get him killed, and your article is being approvingly shared by Kremlin propagandists all over X. The Daily Telegraph, Independent, Daily Mail, Daily Express and Sun all refer to him as a 'British soldier', the BBC as a 'British man' and the Guardian as a 'Briton'. Yours is the only major publication to refer to him as a 'mercenary'. I expect you to rectify this immediately or I shall cancel my subscription and personally see to it that your newspaper's reputation is damaged. Yours,
