Something everyone, especially married women & anyone w/ a name change, need to be pay attention to is the SAVE act. This would require that the name on your ID matches your birth certificate to vote. Call your Reps. 5calls (5calls.org) makes It easy.

Trump says he wants to take over Gaza. Yes, that is scary & bad. Don’t let it distract you from what Musk is doing, the fact that the department of government efficiency is NOT an official agency, we are deporting people to Guantánamo, & that Rubio has arranged to deport detainees to El Salvador

I recently finished listening to “Why Evil Exists” from the Great Courses collection. One of the big takeaways I have is that totalitarianism can’t withstand art and the truth. I pair this with another takeaway I have from “Strongmen” by Ruth Ben-Ghit, which is that would be dictators can’t stand

Today feels icky. Like having to play nice with a person who creeps you out. The last few months feel like they have been orchestrated to overwhelm us so we can’t act. So, pick one thing you care about and fight for it. Pay attention to what’s going on, but pick one thing and fight for it.

A really good book that has been helping me understand why people have been voting or aligning their politics against their own interests lately is “Dying of Whiteness” by Jonathan Metzl.
