Screw it, thread of the things I've watched, read, or played in 2025. Not gonna be giving scores or anything like that, just (probably) quick thoughts and if I enjoyed it or not! I say probably bc I can get way too carried away when talking about things that captivate me
I know I said I'd hold off on it until I read a different book but I'm ngl I'm getting the urge to start the second volume of Index already

The thing abt Monster Hunter stories is that stories in MH that really focus on the ecological aspect of a Hunter, someone who helps keep the balance of nature, feel odd because the gameplay is all about driving every monster to extinction for that sweet sweet Rathalos Ruby

One thing I think is interesting about Makoto is that he doesn't act because of any ideas of righteousness or justice, but bc he personally cares and wants to. He does have a strong sense of justice but it's also HIS OWN sense of justice, and it absolutely clashes with other justices

My copy of the only other translation of The Wings came in, and it has two other stories by Yi Sang included in it. I'm so fucking ready bros

I can kind of feel myself start to have another random depressive episode so I apologize in advance (or late) if my isolative tendencies have been/are acting up again as of late. I'm much better at handling and working through them compared to years ago but they still exist

Probably one of the most interesting things about Fairy Dance as an arc is that Kirito in it has completely bought into his own hype as a former SAO player now that he's playing a game where death isn't permanent, but the execution of that is still a little lacking

There's just so much in Xenoblade 3 that resonates with me, man. I thought about the game again since it's been almost two and a half years since I beat it...

I enjoyed The Wings so much that I bought the only other English translation of it that I could find, and it comes with two other Yi Sang stories to boot so my collection of Korean lit is growing (I have Yi Sang's selected works too)

Thought abt Zero and how much I love his multi-series-long arc of searching for what he's fighting for and being able to define himself outside of what Wily meant for him and later the image of the hero projected on him. Like his last words to Weil is some of the hardest dialogue EVER
