I've talked a lot about the need for Exit from big social platforms. The good news is Exit and interoperability exist today, if you know where to look! In this week's Platformocracy, I go on a whirlwind tour of technologies and projects that make this possible. Here are a few to know. 1/6
Exit and Interoperability Exist Today, If You Know Where To Look
Outside the big walled gardens, the open social web is making Exit and interoperability a reality. I review a few projects that I’m excited about, and where I think they could take us next.

I've just published the lexicons for @frontpage.fyi!

For anybody that has tooling that creates Frontpage records I'd recommend to switch over to these now

Ok so @netnewswire.com is OSS right. Who wants to make it natively compatible with @leaflet.pub and even allow commenting on posts within the app?

I love bookmarklets but my only gripe with them was that they are hard to use in @zen-browser.app. Not anymore!
If you hit ⌘ ⇧ B, the bookmarks bar will 'show' and then you can get to it by hovering the top of the window! 🧑🏻‍🍳💋🤌🏻

As a design principle, we should represent what a record is accurately. It would be deceiving to render a monomark bookmark as a Semble card (unless you had copied the external record into a new Semble card). An example of this is Popfeed shows bookhive records, but it is unclear which are which.

@davidpierce.xyz the question about agentic shopping at the end of this last vergecast had me thinking. We could totally do distributed stores with global shopping on the AT protocol. A lexicon for a storefront and items could be globally relayed, filtered into feeds, all the goods

I was gonna write up my NetNewsWire and fresh RSS set up today, but it uses a cloudflare tunnel. maybe today is not a good day for that.

CSS has flamethrowers now. Where are your gods, JS dorks!
🔥🔥🔥

Lowest setting. CSS powered flamethrower!

Yes, it is really controlled by CSS. I can add MIDI inputs. Then use CSS to trigger animations and output the result to DMX for controlling the flamethrower.
