The $12M ORCA (Opioid Recovery and Care Access) center opens next week offering eight chairs for stabilization after reverse overdose on the streets of Seattle or indoors with an expected stay of 8-12 hours, offering a shower, coffee, and glass pipes and foils when you decide to leave and about 100 computer stations in case you are ready for triage to treatment. Addicts will also have the option to take medical assisted treatment, which is drugs on top of drugs, which is controversial from people who are in absence based programs. Nonetheless, I do like the Sublocade shot, and this will be available to people if they are willing though nothing about this program is a mandate. like “bourgeois elections” wtf are you talking about, mayors in capitalist and existing or theoretical socialist states all have the same questions to address of affordable housing, public transit, childcare, minimum wage, social services, and policing. do you want these to be better or worse?

for the hundredth time, teen drug overdoses rising despite stagnant use is not an issue caused by addiction and not solved with treatment beds! They’re dying because prescribing got so overly clamped down, now the bars of xanny etc going around at parties are no longer diverted pharmaceuticals.
