Voters chose to rely on their worst impulses and desires to the great detriment of "truth, justice and the american way," which so concerned superheros of old. America now glorifies the archetype of Johnny Bates; conscience that never has to mature, power that answers to no one.

And one need only look at some of the childish men Trump surrounds himself with. Men like Elon Musk who uses ketamine and fantasizes about armored cars and colonizing mars, or petulant boys like Matt Gaetz, who still avoids accountability for sex trafficking...

... to say or do what they want when they want. When a criminal like Donald Trump is given power and authority and can avoid accountability for his misuse of power, it signals to other men with boyish power fantasies that maybe they can do the same. Jan 6 is proof of this...

The result is a superpowered child free of consequences and accountibility, free of responsibility or duty, one whose conscience is never given the opportunity to mature.

I see a lot of Johnny Bates in Trump and certainly in many of his followers who feel emboldened...
