All I knew about it was that Brits have had it with CROWSNEST and plan on retiring it 2029. Project Vixen is a AEW/ASW/Strike platform but they haven’t made any decisions on it. They’re also looking at the mq-28 for Vixen which leads to the Project Ark Royal to expand the flight deck and add EMALS.

This is for the British which will replace CROWSNEST soon and wants a UAV replacement which can also do ASW and strike missions.

IIRC the Mark 57 is larger so in can accommodate missiles with more powerful motors rather than larger missiles.

JSM is the only AShM that fits internally on the F-35. Australians Germans Japanese and Italians are buying as well. Not the British tho which is strange since they bought some NSM for their frigates and FC/ASW has no plans to be integrated into F-35.

I think the bigger issue is that the Red Sea is so small it would be inexcusable not to react in the quickest and safest manner when shot at. This photo really demonstrates how low the elevators can get so it’s probably like who cares about the tug let’s turn the boat asap.

Given what the past few months have been like I don’t have any faith in the government or navy to not leak something, on purpose or not, if it was more than a wrong place at the wrong time problem.
