Voodoo TACO received a great deal of “attention” at the Pride parade in Wichita on June 28. 😂

This excerpt from the June 18th edition of the Wichita Eagle discusses the downtown protests. While we may have our share of unconventional individuals, we undoubtedly had a significantly larger presence—perhaps a hundredfold—compared to theirs.

An illustration for an upcoming unit for Kids Discover on giraffes, and how their spots serve as camouflage. Enjoy!

Doing my democracy thing today in Wichita, KS. My Orange Voodoo doll received several new “acupunctures” in route. I also knew that it was a pro-democracy rally as all of the signs were spelled correctly. 😁 Enjoy!

Me and my creation at the pro-democracy rally in Wichita on 4/5. Art is what you make (or destroy) of it. #voodoodoll

If the rule of law isn’t working, maybe voodoo will: My homemade doll, ready to take it to the streets. Not pictured, 36 quality knitting needles, ready to do business.

Say hello to the newest member of the family, Betty White; a name chosen for its inherent longevity. I’ve plans to perhaps take her around to area elementary schools as a rolling white board of sorts, and let the kids have at it. She could also serve as a mini camper. Thoughts?

Joules, a young lady with a keen interest in all things science, is a strip I conceived years ago, but it never happened. A joule is a unit of energy, so I thought the name apropos. Enjoy!

Did you know that chameleons have chemicals in their bones that glow in the dark? My take: A juvenile chameleon might get a kick out of it. Enjoy! KidsDiscover.com

Blue Jays will pick up ants, wipe them on their feathers to reduce the toxic acid that ants produce as a defense mechanism before chowing down. "I'll have a box of ants to go, not too spicy." kidsdiscover.com

The buffalo nickel is actually one of the more famous misnomers (a term that refers to the use of a wrong or inappropriate name for something). The animal on the coin is a bison. The American bison, native to North America, is commonly misnamed "buffalo," but they are native to Africa and Asia. ©me

Did you know that ants actually "hear" through vibrations in their feet and legs? Perhaps this is why Ant Karaoke never took off, or what my interpretation suggests. kidsdiscover.com Enjoy!

Saw this collaboration on Pinterest and thought I'd try it, and it works! Cookbooks would be nice, but meh. And FYI, the ® is a drink coaster that we use to notify each other that the dishes in the dishwasher have only been (R)insed. Enjoy!

Hello BlueSky! I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Michael Kline, and I've been illustrating for Kids Discover magazine for over thirty years. They give me assignments for which no clear photo or art exists, or just something that needs some levity. Enjoy! #arteducation #nemo #stem
