Those who learned history's lesson of the Holocaust appear to be today's concentration camp guards and gestapo, whose takeaway appears to be "obscure your identity when participating in crimes against humanity."

Other institutions have forgotten this main lesson: there is no appeasing fascists.

The New York Times is the first to put out comprehensive estimates on the cost of a year without U.S.A.I.D. and they’re higher than I thought:
- 1.65 million deaths from AIDS
- 500,000 from lack of vaccines
- 550,000 from lack of food aid
- 290,000 from malaria
- 310,000 from TB
Killing children is by design, I'm afraid. "Pro-natalists" like Musk claim they aren't racist, but their pressure to have children is solely focused on white women, while they back policies that literally kill of non-white children.

He's a eugenicist.

Opinion | Musk Said No One Has Died Since Aid Was Cut. That Isn’t True.
A journey through the front lines of global poverty shows that when the world’s richest men slash aid for the world’s poorest children, the result is sickness, starvation and death.

Again, I shit from a great height on the assertion that defunding USAID is somehow stealth progressivism

This is Chuck.

Chuck is selling a book.

Chuck also has a full-time job.

I would consider buying Chuck’s book if he were doing that job, but he’s not.

Don’t be like Chuck.

And don’t buy Chuck’s book.
It gets worse. Schumer isn’t just going on a book tour—he’s charging for tickets.

Absolute insanity. While Americans are scared and in crisis mode, he’s basically saying, let them eat cake.

@schumer.senate.gov Step Down.

Some Democratic member of Congress should propose a bill saying that a POTUS may golf at government expense no more than, say, once every 14 days, and must reimburse the Treasury for anything beyond that.
A couple of golf outings could pay for over 300 federal jobs for an entire year.
So…..fraud and waste? Eh?!?!

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts.

Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

if you live around conservatives, a common bumper sticker reads “liberalism is a mental disorder.” you’ll see effigies of dem politicians, unhinged screeds about satan-worshipping dems written on lawn signs. this stuff gets ignored while any hint of condescension from liberals is treated as endemic

I hope everyone is doing what they need to take care of themselves. One step at a time. One day at a time.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

If private efforts can do ballot curing work, so can the state. I’m glad people are getting help having their votes count, don’t get me wrong! But every state should be working mightily to reduce rejected ballots and to cure the ones they can.

Houston Grand Opera has done an amazing job getting me jazzed for tonight's performance. From YouTube creator commentary to the preshow lecture, I'm impatient waiting for the next 30 minutes for curtain. Not to mention Jamie Barton's return to Houston.
