This came up yesterday so: a lil thread about Giant Bomb stuff. (Sorry for many posts)

A lot of people have told me over the years that seeing me on Giant Bomb (and others like me, to be clear!!) was one of the first steps to their transition/coming out and that's always meant the world to hear.

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)
Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.

One of the greatest values you can provide to an employer is saying No. To have experience to know what's important. If we don't log this thing we will have more retention of what matters MORE, longer. The real world has costs, and those have to be paid.

Upgraded my workstation at home, got the Secret Lab Magnus Pro. So much better than the dingy Ikea desk I had before. #Secretlab

Y’all realize everyone in Helpdesk at your job can just import your browser cookies into their machine remotely and browse your Facebook at their leisure, right?
Like, you understand what Administrator means? It means unquestioned god from anywhere. It’s not your machine IT’S THEIRS.

So, I figured I'd poke at how good #Kagi search is... it's good, real good. But, I often do a lot of searches where I refine my search based on the result, and that's a problem, big problem, I'm talking around 50-ish searches a day, it took me a week to hit the 300 😓

I spent way too much time over the last week setting up an #OCI registry. They all sucks.
#Harbor is a convoluted mess and #Docker only.
#Quay worked, could push, can't pull.
#Zot was promising, but no object storage.
So I went back to the basics: Distribution Registry v2, + a basic AF UI tool.

I've been trying to troubleshoot why PyInfra Ipv4Addrs was empty... until I looked the output of `ip addr show`, which is different than the lookup regex in pyinfra...

I just wanted to try Helldiver 2, but apparently we're too many trying to play.... It is a good problem to have, but also a bad experience for the user (I'm getting flashback from FFXIV Endwalker).

The blue LED, one of the most difficult and important inventions ever – which allowed the white LED – is some of the craziest Chad shit I have ever heard about anything. This guy is pinnacle determination holy crap.

Why It Was Almost Impossible to Make the Blue LED
The blue LED was supposed to be impossible—until a young engineer proposed a moonshot idea.
