"America's favorite baseball history podcast."™ We stan Don Stanhouse, Jay Johnstone, Moe Drabowsky & Sabrina the Teenage Witch. If you like real stirrups, baseball cards & pop culture you'll probably dig us.
A Japanese TV show set out to find a person in Japan who didn’t know who Shohei Ohtani was. It took them 7,524 attempts.
Serious question: over/under on what that number would be in the US? I actually think it might be over

I apologize; I truly hate to pollute anybody's timeline with politics.

But.....I can officially confirm John Rocker is indeed still, John Rocker.

I have watched this clip of Max Scherzer 10 times & can't stop. I love watching players rooting for their teammates. I wish they had a camera on his for all of Yesavage's k's.

What's better than the Franimal hitting a 420 ft (nice!) bomb for Big Boss in the playoffs?

I need a better agent, apparently.

Please add Frank Howard for scale?

While waiting for baseball to start today I did what everybody else did, I assume. I tuned into the Jai-Alai championship match! And look who presented the game ball!
Insert Eric Gregg (RIP) joke here because I couldn't come up with one.

Live look at the strike zone in Cleveland.

The only Full Force I respect.

Davis Schneider is me (with better facial hair), unsuccessfully looking for my 8 pairs of reading glasses I keep in every room of the house.

I don’t remember Richie Cunningham’s cup of coffee with the ’81 Expos.
Then again, the outfield of Dawson, Raines, and Cromartie didn’t leave much playing time.

Bo’s back. That was it. Early ’90s baseball copywriters had one idea. Fortunately, Bo’s back was broad enough to carry it. The amount of time I spent figuring out how to get away with stealing that poster instead of studying 🤯

Donnie Baseball. A rare Yankee immortalized in Springfield, not Cooperstown.

I don't know what baseball movie you're watching this weekend, but if it's not Battlefield Baseball, you're doing it wrong.

Have a hard time deciding my fav Hud card. I do know that when he was doing Angels games I couldn't stand him. He reminds me of a phrase Skip Carey once said about Luis Castilla, "He would make a cup of coffee nervous."

Back in the 90s, a Joe DiMaggio signed ball was worth less than a used computer with less RAM than my toothbrush PLUS Windows 95.
I would have thought the letter of "ethnicity" would have made it worth more than Clippy & Minesweeper

If you had a Dick Mountain card too you would have found the holy grail

I had to Zapruder this clip because it was so quick, but Candy Maldonado's starter jacket from the 1988 playoffs is it. Can we please have nicknames (or first names) on the back of jackets again?
Or were the Giants being cheap and stitching Candy was cheaper than Maldanado?

I'm just memorizing this so I can recite it back to the wife as needed. I'm watching this VHS-quality replay of a 1987 Royals-Blue Jays game with dodgey sound and local ad breaks for those who can't!

Adam Lind! Redeemed myself with the OAKLAND A's though.

Nelson Santovenia, that's a fun name to hear Harry Carey pronounce. Just imagine if he would be turned a DP with Mark Grudzielanek! Love the Expos episodes

Today in 1997 the Orioles & Mariners game is postponed due to a power outage. Rumors that Cal Ripken was injured after punching Kevin Costner, who he found with his wife, obviously not true. Here is Rip in the dugout. Costner in LA at the Waterworld premiere, the only time anybody went to see it.

Somehow I couldn't find an Orioles Magic gif, so just imagine it and then have that song stuck in your head for the rest of the night

As somebody who has been personally affected by Champ Summers, today is a hard day for me. Your patience with me is appreciated.
