Every time I watch The Thing, this dog is spooky as hell. the way he just silently STARES like, "soon..... SOON."

I was unsure about taking a storyboarding class because the prerequisites sounded so high level, but I've already learned really useful tidbits! like that sometimes when filmmakers cut around a ton during a scene, it can be due to fear that it'll be too "boring" if characters are just talking.

"How do you get an audience to root for your protagonist's downfall?" Hard mode: he's a cute little bunny rabbit.

I'm working on storyboarding a tortoise and the hare story, but one problem is that fluffy, bouncy white rabbits are way cuter than plodding tortoises (to most people!).

This comic I'm working on is taking FOREVER even though it's only 9 pages long and I think it's because I'm trying to apply everything I've been learning at once

I cannot adequately express how stoked I am for Pirate Yakuza. I love Majima! I love sharks! I cannot wait to bolt extremely ill-advised FLAMETHROWERS onto my WOODEN PIRATE SHIP.

God it looks so fun youtu.be/viAEO_cMqfU

Nosferatu was great! Robert Eggers 3 and 0, I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of his films. This one in particular had great Bloodborne vibes; the carriage scene was like the drive to Cainhurst Castle 👌. Kept waiting for Willem Dafoe to tell his student to fear the old blood.

Predict your 2025 with an image from your phone.

Q: Why do you have a picture of a jaguar lying on the ground like a beached whale
A: Yes.

Mountains, forest, desert, sea... do you have a favorite biome you'd love to live in? Personally, I really enjoy a cool, quiet forest with light filtering through the trees. I've come to appreciate the rocky beauty of the desert, but it's so hot! 🥵

Exploring the beauty of ungulates and hoofed animals through some gesture studies. Love these guys, used to watch white-tailed deer nosing around the yard.

Did you know turkeys are related to pheasants?? Now that I've done a few studies, I can totally see it. It's just that their ability to fluff up makes them look totally different. It's crazy how drastically they can change their silhouette!

Dynamic sketching has made a massive difference in my drawing. I feel more confident to tackle complex subjects (tentacles 🦑) and draw from imagination instead of being chained to references.

Here are some bits and bobs from this week's homework 😊
