While Tycho Crater (location of the first Monolith of 2001 fame) and it’s ejecta rays seem to dominate the southern regions of the moon, there is quite a lot to see, from the various mare, to the other large craters.

This image is of IC 1396A, a dark, dense cloud of gas 20 light years long, embedded in the larger IC1396 nebula. It is informally known as the “Elephant Trunk Nebula” because of its long, distinctive shape.

Sporting around 20 billion stars, the Large Magellanic Cloud is just a 1/100th the mass of our Milky Way. Nearly 200,000 light years away from us, this satellite of the Milky Way is teaming with newly formed stars glowing blue and lighting up nebulae in this image.

The Triangulum Galaxy (Messier 33) is a spiral galaxy 2.73 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Triangulum.
In dark skies, this is the most distant object that can be seen with the naked eye.

Alnitak, the Horsehead and the Flame.
Orion's Belt and nearby objects are part of the Orion Molecular Cloud complex, a star-forming region of gas and dust in the winter Milky Way.
There is also a little MAC galaxy in the image - bonus points to whoever can find it!
