27, gay nonbinary man. I talk about video games.
99. Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!

Beat it purely for the sake of home dex completion and shiny hunting. I don't really like it much.

I'VE BEEN AT THIS FOR TWO YEARS BUT I'M FINALLY FREE

Good to know Keighley is exactly the type of guy he appears to be

Used this for a different prompt recently but it applies here too. When I was a kid I loved a game called Herdy Gerdy on the PS2. With time I've come to understand it's a pretty rough experience, pretty terrible performance especially, but man it's unique and still gorgeous.

Lmfao why do the Grammys even have a video game category at this point

98. Pokémon Shining Pearl

Powered through it exclusively for pokedex completion purposes. Still makes me sad.

Super cool normal government we have here. These are the supposed liberals!! The outright open fascists haven't even assumed power yet!!

97. Once Upon a Katamari

Really quite floored by how strong this was, I was expecting to like it but not this much. Easily the best in the series since the PS2 entries, such a strong variety of levels in this one.

96. Pokémon Legends: Z-A

I liked it, not as much as Arceus but waaaay more than SV. Appreciate the willingness to experiment with the formula, but I've always been more of a fan of the collecting than the battling. I have issues with it, but there's a lot to like in here too.

95. Klonoa: Empire of Dreams

Never played a Klonoa game before but this was a fun puzzle platformer, I should play a real Klonoa game at some point. I do love these GBA platformers though, they're so cute.

My go to obscure fave is an old PS2 game called Herdy Gerdy. It has a lot of performance issues but aesthetically I think it's just gorgeous. Would kill for a remaster.

94. Sokobond

Another fun little sokoban game, I liked it.

93. Waterpark Simulator

My fiance saw Hasan play it and thought it looked fun, so I bought it for us to play together over Discord calls. It's pure streamer bait but it was fun enough, I have a soft spot for building games and simple management sims.

92. Mario & Wario

This game has basically only existed to me as trivia, I think it's so cool that it's finally accessible. That's been my favorite thing about NSO, getting to play cool obscure games I'd never play otherwise, I wish Nintendo went even further with them. Anyway, the game is bad.

91. Yooka-Re-Playlee

Much better, basically all the annoying bosses and minigames from the OG are either smoothed out or replaced. Arguably too smoothed down, it's pretty easy, but I don't go to 3D platformers for challenge anyway. Still not one of the genre's best entries, but much improved.

90. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

I just don't love Warriors games, I find them too repetitive. They aren't bad games, just kinda monotonous. This one also had these awful vehicle segments, and I didn't really like the time travel in the story, so I guess I liked it less than the usual Warriors.

89. The Touryst

It's okay, bit simple, had a few overly frustrating moments. Killed a few hours, I suppose.

88. Super Mario Eclipse

Don't normally play fan games but playing Galaxy 2 made me crave the superior feeling Sunshine, and I had this on my radar. I should've liked it more than I did though, didn't think the new levels really hit the way the base does. Still, was nice to have more Sunshine.

87. Super Mario Galaxy 2

Replay. It was nice to have an excuse to replay this one since it's been so long, but the Galaxy games just aren't my favorite. I find the levels too linear and kinda boring, and the movement stiff and lifeless. Galaxy 2 doesn't even have the impeccable vibes of Galaxy 1.

86. Hades II

Just rolled credits, I think I still slightly prefer the original, but for admittedly nitpicky reasons. It is otherwise the original and then more, and it's pretty much just as fun.

85. A Good Snowman is Hard to Build

Fun little sokoban but waaaaay too short. Normally I like a short game but this one feels like it ends before it even really begins.

84. Toem

Been meaning to finish this one off for years now, and with some time to kill and a sequel out next year now felt like the time. Cute game, had fun with it.

83. Viewfinder

Fun game, they find a lot of creative uses out of the central mechanic, and it really is a fun mechanic. Still, feel like they could've pushed the mechanics even further, outside of some bonus levels and the final stage it felt like there was room for another tier of difficulty.

This haul also gets me close to completion on my goal to get every shiny starter, now all I'm missing is the Gen 9 set, which I have none of because breeding sucks ass in SV (also included is another shiny box I couldn't include in the last post)
September 20, 2025 at 9:30 PM
I've been shiny hunting off and on between games while the treasures of ruin raids have been going. Now that game releases are about to pick up I'm probably going to put it to bed again, but I'm pretty proud of my shiny haul.
