I have nothing intelligent to say, other than this. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

BLUESKY. I'M BACK.

AN ANALYSIS OF THE SONG TITLES OF TS12

AND HOW THEY RELATE TO THE THEME OF "A LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL"

AS USUAL. AN EXTREMELY UNHINGED 🧵:

Can never get over the fact that literally all of Question...? can essentially be boiled down to "am I bad, or mad, or wise?"

TTPD title track is for the girls who cried to Renegade. If you know, I am sorry that you know.

Extremely underrated line in a criminally underrated song

I think this very specific, very painful experience is far more common than any of us are willing to admit, because so much of it is steeped in misogyny and shame.

As young women, we are prized for our innocence, and then shamed for our inexperience.

Whenever I listen to TTPD, I remember that twin-flame relationships are often said to be marked with painful conflict, because the people who remind us most of ourselves also reflect our worst qualities, amplifying and exacerbating every challenge we've ever had in relationships.

Fearing "forever" isn't just about the fear of commitment.

It's about fearing the surrender--the intense vulnerability that forever can bring.

There is safety in the finite. Forever can finish you.

I can never thank Taylor enough for giving me the words that encapsulate PTSD better than any song I have ever heard

The devil couldn't reach me so he made me relate to the bridge of Cardigan

She doesn't just bolt because she is afraid to be hurt.

She is afraid to be known.

The genius of Chloe et al is that it simultaneously asks the questions "what if I was enough, after all" and "what if I never will be again?"

Marjorie really hits different when the one you're missing hasn't died, but the person they once were to you is gone forever.

It's our first February with TTPD and I don't think even Taylor could have predicted how much this lyric would resonate with the times

The only thing a Bolter can never run away from is her own past.

One of the most painfully relatable aspects of TTPD, for me, is Taylor's impatience for fate to find her.

After so many years of hope and disappointment, she wants to find forever in a fortnight. She wants to take her Maserati full throttle on the freeway, not a dead-end street.

How much would you sacrifice to save your relationship?

What if it meant losing yourself?

Many have opined on the central theme of The Tortured Poets Department. Some say it's longing. Others say it's grief.

But what if it's actually self-destruction?

Let me explain. A 🧵:

Never not thinking about the fact that she is literally "burning the midnight oil" in this lyric

Thinking about how the "make believe" Taylor describes here isn't just referring to the romantic fantasies of Guilty As Sin. It's also the music she writes about them.

The One. Cardigan. Ivy. Etc. In a way, by fictionalizing her fantasies, those albums became the vow she upheld.
