I’ve been wanting to make some murals here in my hometown of Phoenix, and this is the first of a few designs I am working on! Growing up I always heard folks call it “the valley of the sun”, which inspired this piece with the big goopy sun god. If you know PHX I hope you spot some landmarks!

Yesterday a purse I made earlier this year was featured in a show put on by the city as part of Phoenix Fashion Week! It's the first time my leatherwork has been recognized by the arts community and it felt really nice to be acknowledged for my personal work outside of games.

My first leatherwork to be in a gallery show, finally mounted in its shadow box. The mount needed to be reversible since I actually use this purse, so I used heavyweight fishing line and sewed the piece to the canvas! Dropping her off tomorrow to the gallery 🙈

A cute commission for a special person I finished this week! I’ve not done a gouache painting in years, but it was fun to get back into it for this. Based on the poem ‘Snow Geese’ by Mary Oliver. It’s for a kid’s room so I wanted it to be sweet without being overly saccharine.

Prepping and planning for building a shadowbox for this piece that’s been accepted into an upcoming gallery show. My first piece of leatherwork to be in a gallery. Never really expected to make anything worth showing let alone having it chosen but, the theme was perfect!
