I am a woman.

You are an asshole.

You can't quote people and then tell them they're being a reply guy when you're randomly talking shit on them. You're being gross bro. And yes I'm replying because .. shocker ... This site is public. The things you post are public. If you don't want people replying then deal with that on your own.

I went through and read the post earlier. Really makes me curious. I think I may do some testing with the extension to see how it fairs. It's interesting that it apparently goes off of multiple models instead of a singular one. Makes me think it could be a bit more accurate than other AI detectors.

I truly don't know what people are supposed to do if they don't want to switch to Linux (understandable) and can't afford a new system or just don't want to have to.

Ofc MS can do whatever they want but I can also firmly believe it's steaming bs. ;-;

Not a surprise, but MS is all about the $$$. Either you suffer without any updates (whether you upgrade or not, they've already deemed your system incompatible), you pay for new parts/a new computer entirely, or you switch to some other operating system.

I wonder how accurate it is, because I know for a fact that certain writing styles falsely get picked up as AI generated.

The standalone mobile distros like Ubuntu Touch are only able to be installed on extremely old hardware apparently. Though I'm curious if that's strict or not...

I've been looking into it too and apparently it's not as easy of a landscape to navigate as desktop Linux (and for some that's very hard in itself).

I have a throwaway phone to test, but from what I've found most viable options are just forks of android and not standalone distros.

A lot of people seem to enjoy Krita.

What other alternatives are you looking for?

In the hundreds of online microcommunities around Linux, you'll find the occasional RTFM prick (and, tbf, an actual manual does usually *exist* and may have your answers), but more often than that people really helping to solve your problem, with all confidence that it is *solvable*

I also have an ancient Chromebook and I personally put Fedora on mine. It's not the best performance though so I'm considering maybe gallium or tinylinux. 🤔

I am in the middle of experimenting to get the best balance between performance and usability.

Only one way to find out!

I'm going to put it in a VM and debate it

Obligatory Hannah Montana Linux and Biebian mentions - they're odd because I'm pretty sure they're designed to be odd.

Chase it

The only time I have to is if I'm installing something from GitHub, and I don't even think I *have* to do that. It's usually some community patch for some other software or a utility that I want to use.

Often times I just prefer to use it, but I also have days where I would rather use a GUI.
