Pray for me, I’m gonna read this.

I’m reading this book and I think that maybe Hayes isn’t quite the right guy to write it. The first 50 pages could have been, like, 3.

“There are three kinds of attention: voluntary (paying attention), involuntary (CRASH!!), and social (blablablaYOURNAMEblablabla)”

That’s pretty much chapter 2.

Reading the new Jason Mott novel last night. This page felt especially relevant in the current news cycle:

"You Americans...You are already too late. The good times? They are gone. And they will not return."

So far this book is incredibly good and full of rich detail and (oddly) suspense, but it isn’t making me like Carver very much

Just got this in the mail from @iheartnoise.bsky.social it’s the kind album that’s made for physical formats. So glad to have it.

(To be clear, the newsletter was half-assed, not the road trip. The road trip was whole-assed and awesome. Vive la Montréal or whatever)

uh oh. Something has people stumbling across my Ocean Vuong book pan.

If you love that book, I'm glad for you! I really wanted to love it too. But, nope.

I grew up with salt and pepper as the only seasonings. My first job after uni involved lots of travel and fancy food. I love it all (except the foie gras)

On April 13, my website had drawn as much traffic in 2025 as it did in all of 2024.

64 days later it happened again. Last night I hit 200% of the traffic from 2024. I'm in awe that so many people are interested in what I think about stuff.

you guys are pretty great, keep it up, love you all.

Anybody read this and want to talk about it? I’m on the final stretch and this is a novel that takes some *work*

Picked up these yesterday. A pretty eclectic pile I think.

I didn’t know there was a graphic novel version of The Parable of the Sower until a few days ago.

Have you read any of these?

Connections is trolling Michael Che this morning. That’s pretty funny.

Here's the stamp -- when I met Samantha Harvey to get this autographed, she asked all kinds of questions about it.

This is Scooter, he’s been with us a little over a year now. The quietest chihuahua I’ve ever met. It was about 3 weeks before we even heard him bark. He’s not always photogenic so I thought I’d share this one.

As of 2:07pm today, traffic to T&W in 2025 has passed all of 2024.

I’m not much for watching numbers, but this is a pretty cool milestone.

Another flawless newsletter today. 😂

This is what happens when you stay up late to get the new releases in the playlist and send it in the morning without proofreading.

Anyway. The rest of it is good. You should get my newsletter.
