North London lad. Spurs.
I meant the team performance was unacceptable, not Xavi. He was trying to make things happen and seeing a lot of the ball, but lost possession so often and in good positions. Didn’t think he had an awful game but not good. I thought Romero was our best player but it’s a low bar.

Romero wasn’t terrible. That’s it.

Dreadful all over the pitch. So, so sloppy. I lost count of how many times we lost the ball. I really thought Xavi was ready to crack on but he was so wasteful. Just completely unacceptable. Only Romero was decent.

He’s ridiculous

Agree; neither team was really firing, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. The away end was great despite Newcastle being a horrible away venue.

Sure, but is booing likely to make players better or worse? Confidence is low and they know they’ll get boos and abuse if they make a mistake. So they take an extra touch, wait an extra beat, don’t play the riskier pass. When they all do that, this is what you get.

I agree. I understand why some fans boo but it’s totally counter productive. To be fair a larger section of the fans did try to get behind the team yesterday.

This makes me feel so much better about our fans 😆

Of course not Xavi. It’s at Frank for taking Xavi off instead of Richy, having already taken RKM off; it’s supportive of Xavi if anything

Lucky enough to have been in the south stand for both 😁

Just be happy ndogie is injured

Agree, and I think the fact that our support rarely backs the players when they go behind creates a negative feedback loop. You can feel the energy drop in the stadium and see it reflected on the pitch.

Ah, no, on match of the day. L

Both an exaggeration, and depends very much where you’re sitting. But I do think fans are ridiculously impatient and the players feel it.

I think it was Troy Deeney

Me neither. Bloke in front of me was losing his mind every time (he also fell asleep for about 10 minutes!). But we almost scored from one and looked dangerous from several. I don’t understand what people in this thread were watching.

I lived in the states for a couple of years and I’ve never heard an American say “I couldn’t care less”, always “could”. And until the last decade or so I’d never heard a Brit say “could”, and now it’s younger people. Pretty sure this *is* an Americanism.

Guess it depends where you were sitting. In my seat (top of south)I thought bardi got it exactly right - a smattering.
