I think AI translations for games would be the last thing any of us want. Localisations give us really quirky dialogue that we wouldn't otherwise get, and so long as the essence of the text is there, I think we can allow a few liberties when it comes to adapting it for overseas audiences.

Also equally a big cinema fan but I've definitely been slacking on releases this year. Managed to catch up on some of the big ones but I'm sure there are quite a few that pass me by.

I think my expectations were also so low that that certainly helped too. Do I believe it needed to be made? That's debatable. Do I regret watching it? I did not. I also tend to admire boldness even when it doesn't always pay off and being a pseudo-musical certainly was a bold idea.

From the perspective of Todd Phillips taking his own myth that had been venerated by a force outside of his control, reclaiming it only to then drag it back down to earth, it's interesting. I'm just not sure that everything worked effectively.

I still collect PS2 games from my local shop and then emulate them after. There's a whole topic about game preservation there 😂 But yeah, you know it's good when you can play the original (kind of) and then jump into the Remake right after with the same level of fresh enthusiasm.
