It's often a driver issue that drives me to shop around. I was on neon for a few years, but after loading an update I couldn't get it to recognize that my printer was attached, even though I had been using it on the same machine for over a year. I tested Mint and it worked, no problem.

I sometimes get frustrated with Linux Mint over something that's probably in the kernel and universal to Linux and then try another distro and use it for a while and then come back to Mint.

I'm not a sophisticated user, really. I just copy and paste fixes that I find in forums when I need them.
