Which is certainly valid. The resistance really isn't much different from people being cash holdouts. I'm not opposed to it, I just don't care for being in the middle of SG Olympics, breaking to eat, and MMN3 telling me to scan the QR code to pay for pizza.

My unwillingness to pay using programs like Venmo or Apply Pay is probably my most Boomer trait.

My daughter wants an EV for her first car. Our budget narrows her options to a Leaf or i-MIEV. I'm considering getting one as it would be an opportunity to learn about battery swaps. I've never researched swaps, but as soon as I looked at a Leaf listing I had the swap videos in my feed.

Unfortunately this is something I've come to understand a lot more in recent years. It's really not as much about being surprised as just being disappointed.
