Do you have any personal recommendations for/against particular ebike brands? Heavily considering a change in my commute and it’s tough to discern practical advice from general noise/SEO slop (sorry if you’ve answered this before already)

Can only speak from general Discord experience myself, but typically the in-built noise suppression (Krisp) or the default input sensitivity tend to be the primary offenders. Former can be switched off, latter can be manually adjusted to have a lower threshold

I understand your fears with this topic, truly; I was in the same camp for a long time, and it sucks that we’ve reached such a place. But when the trans community is twice as likely to be murdered as their counterparts, it’s irresponsible to tell that community not to protect themselves.

And armed resistance has always been the cornerstone of any meaningful anti-authoritarian movement. The Civil Rights movement owes its success just as much to the Black Panthers as it does MLK, the nonviolent approach only holds weight when it is understood to be the starting point.

The guns aren’t going anywhere, whether we like them or not. When the opposition is actively calling for your community to be erased, all options for protecting yourself need to be on the table.
