My living room thermometer is so weird. It never shows temperatures of 62, 65, 67, 69, 71, 74 or 76°F, among others. I figured out that it's measuring the temperature in Celsius (as an integer) then converting to Fahrenheit. Bedroom thermometer, same brand, different model, doesn't have this issue.

Fiddleheads (a seasonal young fern), with rice and furikake, cucumber slices with tajin, and corn salad with onion, green pepper and pimientos.
I buy fiddleheads almost every spring when they're in season. I don't always get a delicious result when I cook them, but these turned out nicely.

#NaNoRenO2025 update: 6 1/2 days in and I'm falling woefully behind. Good news is that there are still 24 1/2 days to go, and that the story is mostly written in rough form. I've decided to abandon a simulation-based mechanic and instead just weave it into the text. Time to stop procrastinating...
