Actually, this is obviously true and is at the heart of the scientific method. However, it's important only to pay attention to people who actually know what they are talking about. If your participation in the conversation is because of your status, not your expertise, then please sit down.

Nigeria has 2/3 the population of the USA, and about 1/7 the area of the lower 48. That's about as big as all the Atlantic states from Georgia to Maine. Wonder if he knows that.
