Fact-based, simple research on military, international relations, economic and power-politics topics. I try to identify patterns.
3/3 Where they’ve come from exactly I do not know. Either back from the front lines, from bases, from Belarus/another friendly country or all the above.

I will try to keep UVZ under observation as best I can moving forward.

2/3 I’ve counted 300 tanks in total. My belief is they are T-62, T-72 and T-90. I can’t be sure if they’ve brought T-64 here. The tanks are mostly in decent shape overall, although they do require repairs, it seems. Some are in atrocious condition, likely only suitable for spare parts, if at all.

2/2 Second, there are a multitude of alternative suppliers much closer to India. They can make do without Russian oil just fine - they’ll just have to pay a wee-bit more for it, is all.

You're welcome.

What I'm suggesting is that of the ~800 tanks (fewer now, I haven't counted), only one row seems 'decent'. Meaning the vast majority of the tanks is a write-off. Hope this clarifies it.

No no, fair question. At a certain point, whether you're Russian or American, junk is junk - the metal so rusted the equipment cannot be derusted, coated and pushed into service. I believe we're at that point.

You're welcome, and thank you for the kind words.

We know for sure the Russian Soviet legacy stocks have declined severely BOTH quantitatively AND qualitatively. This is further substantiated by the decline in registered losses in recent months. One can thus infer that the 'viable' % is at the lower end, if that helps.

Heck, it's hard enough keeping up with where shit comes from and where it's going, or even what it is, as it is! These T-90s that have popped up like a fucking Jack In The Box at UVZ are giving me headaches!

To be honest, I'm wary of making estimates like lower end to higher end. Because it's speculative. We could say 30% of the withdrawn tanks are fully refurbishable, or it could be 40%, or 70%. How extensive are the repairs? Are they deployed to the war or stored? Too many variables.
