I like both Stoic and Buddhist philosophy, electronics, IT, woodworking, and generally just pondering life. I also have been known to say Ni! and I like little white picket fences, not too big, not too small. Avoid salmon mousse.

A while ago, I wrote this post about why deregulation is a very bad idea: Privacy and AI Deregulation is the Wrong Answer

Privacy and AI Deregulation is the Wrong Answer
Recently, we've been witnessing the rapid spread of a deregulatory movement for privacy and AI. Spurred in significant part by the Trump Administration,

To be fair, Michael Caine's voice is just so good, just like Morgan Freeman or Samuel Jackson.

And as far as I know, I am still in top-5 with an issue with almost 700 updates on it. Some of which were essays, because getting the point across was hard. They were being stubborn and slow to understand.

Don't ask me how I know that those are your two options. My prose is likely a lot worse than various writers. My excuse is that I am not paid to write, I am paid to know.

That did not stop me when I was in support though. There are customers still having nightmares about my flow-of-thought essays.

When you couple a polygraph with someone that can read microexpressions, then you start to get at the why.

Which is an interesting field of studies, truth be told. :)

Yes, and no.

The TV series Lie To Me does a good job of explaining polygraphs. They're not foolproof, you can train to pass them, but they do work. What they're bad at, is distingushing what your heightened state of emotion stems from. They just detect the presence, not the why.

The top one is *clearly* something belonging to the Knights Who Say Ni.

who they work for and what tactics they use to harrass and intimidate scientists with.

I don't think it is apt to "take the moral high ground" any longer. The fossil fuel industry clearly feels threatened enough by science to ignore law and morals.

So hang them out to dry.

You'll see what's coming next if you do.

The world's watching. We can see what's happening, we see the parallels and we're terrified. But we've also got hope. The No Kings rallies showed that all is not lost, there is still hope.

But this feels a bit like Sam and Frodo on the plains of Gorgoroth.

It is but a short step from suing people to shut them up to not bothering with appearing proper and just sending goons to silence someone permanently. It's not "if", it's "when".

Run a checklist of what NSDAP in Germany did in the 1930s and tick off what current US admin has done.

What is currently happening with ICE/CBP - the Sturmabteilung - will only get worse as the people in charge get more desperate for scapegoats to blame. And it *will* expand to political "enemies" who dare to stand against them - as showcased with James, Comey etc.

Now that I'm starting to have a half-decent set of beginner mods, I can experiment a bit, genociding large swathes of Grineer, Corpus and Infested while levelling weapons.

However, I do need to tinker with Oraxia and learn how to leverage her invisibility. And Volt has been languishing a bit. I need to rectify that. 😁
