The old CAG had a forum and some people discussing this today we're on it. To me, it sounds like there was community input then. I'm okay with the change. I think it's a net good for Magic as a whole. But they should not do it because it's way too controversial

It's only BUG in the command zone with the rules change. It's not really any more confusing than a commander as a format. This change being more or less confusing is the weakest argument

Have you considered this change as a philosophical stance? The old CAG discussed, researched, and decided no on this. WOTC's reasoning has not really changed since then. But now they are in charge. It's one of the reasons this discussion feels so controversial
