DC Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton’s strong history of civil rights and public service deserves a better end than this. Her inability to function at yesterday’s Hill committee on DC was her public “Joe Biden Debate” moment. A decision to retire honorably should be next.

Wall Street Journal editorial on John Bolton raid - "The real offender here is a President who seems to think he can use the powers of his office to run vendettas. We said this was one of the risks of a second Trump term, and it’s turning out to be worse than we imagined."

This would be a good place for all those hundreds of National Guard soldiers padding around in DC....

French President Macron publicly says directly to President Trump’s face — all of Europe wants peace in Ukraine and there must be some type of ceasefire ASAP. (Trump after meeting w/Putin dropped that ceasefire demand.)

UPDATE … President Trump did not — did not — applaud Zelenskyy’s arrival at the White House … Trump clapped for Putin in Alaska as the dictator and invader of Ukraine arrived on American soil.
August 18, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Hmmm … will President Trump roll out the red carpet for Zelenskyy tomorrow… and will Trump stand and clap for him as he arrives just as Trump did for Putin? (attn: national media)

Yes, the blatant, bloody aggressor must be rewarded in some hideous way for the aggressor to stop his slaughter of another nation. Simple. The free world sees thru this. It’s why Europeans leaders also are heading to DC.
Witkoff claims Putin agreed to "legislative enshrinement within the Russian Federation not to go after any other territories when the peace deal is codified " and "legislative enshrinement in the Russian Federation not to go after any other European countries."

What could possibly go wrong?

Governors of three states — Ohio, South Carolina and West Virginia — are sending members of their state National Guards to D.C. to … well, theoretically to combat crime but, if the past week is any in...
