Welcome to Friday's Breakfast on BBCRadio3. I love this album cover - part of a huge project to record all 107 of Haydn's symphonies and just a taste from it coming later. And this morning's dawn chorus was a Güldenstädt's Redstart. All is good!

Morning! Back after a little social media break. And slightly worrying to see it was 16 degrees warmer this morning compared to yesterday. I was scraping ice off the car in -4 on Wednesday, today I'm in shorts and T-shirt. Breakfast on BBCRadio3 from 6.30-9.30. Happy Thursday!

It's Mackerras 100 on BBCRadio3 today. The great Australian conductor Charles Mackerras born on this day in 1925. Breakfast is packed full of his recordings and we'll get to hear him in interviews as we plunder the BBC archives. 6.30-9.30.

Morning @bbcradio3 Breakfasters- happy Saturday! How are we all? What a week! Some of my highlights here but I’ve just the tonic for hectic times, an autumnal breeze blowing through the show this morning starting with Locatelli out on the hills. Some vintage Bach before 7 too. Kettle on!

Music by the intriguing and overlooked Rita Strohl in Tuesday's Breakfast on bbcradio3. Bach Before 7 features the brilliant Belgian oboist Marcel Ponseele. Two of today's top string quartets - Chiaroroscuro and Dover. And the dawn chorus was a Shorelark recorded in Lapland.

Going to put it here now. Petroc Trelawny should be the new voice as commentator for national events. The right amount of gravitas and respect in all he does.

16yo Hilary Hahn on her 1996 debut album for today's Bach Before 7 in BBCRadio3 Breakfast. It was a Black-faced Bunting in the dawn chorus and at 7.15 I'll be setting you Monday's brain teaser with the Morning Stretch. See you there 📻

A few very distant Cranes through the heat haze from when we visited Slimbridge on the on BBCRadio3 Breakfast roadtrip. Today's dawn chorus started with Cranes on the plains of Spain. Elgar's Sospiri on the way shortly and a fantastic festival overture by Madeleine Dring. Yay!

Love this painting of Joseph Bologne! Master swordsman & star violinist in Paris at the end of the 18th century. One of his violin concertos in Thursday's Breakfast on BBCRadio3. The dawn chorus was a Collared Forest-Falcon. & Bach Before 7 is a warning to watch out for the Devil!
