That would still be a Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh from me, but the next post down that thread suggests that it was a rewrite... Don't really feel like factchecking, when either way I'm somehow the boogie man and I don't have a NYT subscription anymore anyhow.

After the public told the New York Times how offensive its headline was, they changed it on the homepage. (The original is still on the actual story, last I checked.)

I also think it wasn’t such a big deal with us, just needed to go out of our way for it with a bit extra documentation. We love our credit union! I hope you find a good banking solution for you.

I still use my credit union from grad school! Also love them. The only thing that was tricky was getting our large check for our mortgage down payment. Fortunately, won’t need to deal with that often 🤪.

This question shortly followed by a written question that asks me to describe what makes the applicant "special"-- with no definition of what "special" may mean, just explicitly asking that I compare them to others. This is exhausting.

I love Hartford Coffee- went there a bunch during my postdoc here! We’re staying a block down and two over right now, but haven’t been yet this trip. Very cool it was started by a friend of yours!

They pay less taxes for employing people with SNAP.

They pay those people so little they have to stay on SNAP.

And then because they've destroyed local grocery stores, they are the biggest beneficiaries of SNAP dollars.

Nice racket, IMHO.
