@nopatience Weird. I don't recall having this issue with Linux on my old Intel Macbook Pro. I do however have the same with Asahi on an ARM Macbook but that's a specific and known problem with not being able to go into the deepest sleep modes yet. Cannot imagine that's the same with Framework.

It seems it's still an optical connection even on the new T1 dryer that has no other single LEDs but LED screens. The tranciever is "hidden" in the top right corner of the black front "screen".

Washer has the optical interface (PC) described in the talk, dryer seems to be too new and will need something else.

(The other half of the talk deals with BSH devices of which we have dishwasher/micro and oven all Bosch so there will be plenty of fun ahead!)
