What ho, Robin. Sorry to hear you're unwell. All the best to you and the family.

Less phone time is top of my resolution list. It's the enemy of reading time and writing time.

Your welcome. Be wary of using unverified quotes, but especially those attributed to Orwell. His name is evoked by all manner of propagandists for the intellectual and cultural weight it bears.

It was not fabricated by Orwell. It was wrongly attributed to him.

Is it? Is it not a bit too black and white? Bit of an over simplification? Bit polarising? Why might someone erroneously attribute this sentiment to Orwell? Just things to consider.

I feel exactly the same about starving in a fiery dust bowl in our lifetimes. But we still need to do things that make life bearable or we drown in our grief. I can write, dance, play bad guitar, and give a fuck about the climate. These are not mutually exclusive things.

No, it's a kid's scifi adventure. The content is not adult enough and the peril is broken up by lots of feel good, wonder-of-nature scenes. It's less of a horror than Indiana Jones. Does anyone even die on-screen? It's a while since I watched it.

I thought this myself waking up with a bad cough this morning. All my previous partners made being ill harder. Even when I had covid I had to tidy up.
