There is beauty in the margins. Interested in exploring, questioning my assumptions, and I stand corrected.

Like art, math, Alaskan politics, wild places, and the kindness of strangers.

Was @SupposeNot on the bird app, and am on mastodon.social.

But also please understand that this calculus, while correct, is not the reason why I do not choose to beat up my 92-year-old, disabled neighbor.

I would never choose to do that not because the cons outweigh the pros, but because I am not a psychopathic monster.

It was pretty clear the staffer was not paying attention, and stopped taking notes at "impeach Trump". I'm sure they're very busy, but my read after this interaction is that the Representative has created an atmosphere in his office where they are free to ignore anyone who isn't full MAGA.

I asked the staffer to read it back, he said "you want to impeach Trump for a list of reasons" and I said, yeah, but what's on that list? He complained that there were people on the line waiting, I reiterated the request, he hung up on me.

Sadly, social media, the easy dunk, emphasize the latter over the former in discourse. 6/6

It’s the gap between perception of self and how one is perceived. It’s “I don’t agree with them, but at least I know where they stand” vs “I wouldn’t trust him to…”

As social creatures, we’d rather be the former than the latter. 5/6

Being an asshole can be transitory, and forgiven. Being a hypocrite somehow feels worse in a social context. Perhaps because we want to be trustworthy? 4/6
