Parigo pur jus (mais pas français)
The plan also adds a new line to connect directly to La Sagrera that will bypass Tarragona, reducing the total length.

The Velaro ES is already certified for 350.

I a more interested in the new axes (corredor mediterraneo, Y-Vasca, Portugal…), but any upgrade is always nice :)

Unless there has to be a locomotive switch anyways. I suppose that a V200 vectron will be easy to find.

if it’s cars from the 90’s, could we hope for 200km/h?

I just saw their new investment deck, they still announce one of the two new lines (either Barcelona or Milano) for october 2026. A bit surprising (and is there that many carriages available ?)
November 12, 2025 at 9:26 AM
I guess the last funding round will found the new trainset, but that would mean no train to Barcelone or Milan?

It would be even more amazing if it was Paris - Brussels - Berlin - Prag but I suppose that timetables won't hold.

Totally agree. I hope that programs like mireo smart will work, plus bundled with some leasing.

(but I can't help geeking and thinking of engineering, even if it isn't what we need)

No, and I agree.

Yes, but tgv-m doesn't sound fancy ;)
(also why don't all carriages do that?)

If they build traditional trains, I suppose talgo would just disappear and merge into a larger company.

I think the accessibility will be the next big problem to tackle(everybody can do high speed now). I hear your dislike on talgo's take but none of the alternatives seem appealing to me either.
November 7, 2025 at 10:56 AM
Haha, the talgo 22 with axle motorisation would be the ultimate train.

Maybe bring back pendular suspension (and not so wide bodies) and being able to regulate between 55 and 76 platforms, like a Citroën DS

I’ve seen some communication about that (also about using more composite ‑ maybe longer cars?). Do you think they are financially able to make such a radical change ?
November 7, 2025 at 9:33 AM
Other wild theory (just for fun): they will extend Köln-Berlin to have a 3 capital trains as they plan on a failure of the talgo ice-L and they need a high confort level to match expectations compared to DB and given the long travel time.
October 25, 2025 at 10:50 AM
Do you know if there are some stations with length limitations (the ice4 is max 346m) ?
Maybe they plan 7 or 8 car avelias and not 9 to be able to run in multiple units in Germany? (I don’t believe that, just throwing ideas)

I am also quite puzzled about that.
In old Duplexes it was 3 cars first, 4 second. With océane, 2.5 first, 4.5 second.
Keeping that ratio, it would result in 3/5 (with a bit more first).
I don’t see thalys doing 4/4 (I would already be surprised that they keep the huge bar).

a BVG vibe ;)
They could have subtitled in English however

Or take the case of Nancy-Contrexeville. SNCF proposed to Région Grand Est it would be best to close it and run a bus.

The Région said no and tendered repairs of the lines and operations, and Transdev won, and SNCF was furious. How could SOMEONE ELSE run it!? 🤯
