Not only do they functionally demonstrate what is good about the game, I.E., manipulating and destroying physics objects, but they also serve the purpose of showing the state of the world and the sort rule the combine choose to utilize. Abrupt and visceral violence to squash any sort of rebellion

Rigs for reference, next step is to add in some custom shapes and actually look at the utility for bone collections as this rig is fairly simply.
I want to add, I'm not overly happy with the animations themselves, more just happy to finally have completely one from conception to engine import

I think this is a big part of it. I work mainly as a generalist 3D artist on my professional side and am currently stuck on character art and animation + the implementation of that in engine.

It's always nice to hear other people sharing this view tbh. The in person teaching is great, but the admin and grading is just mind numbing sometimes.

The pay is also great

I'm hyped as fuck to jump into Control next. As well as Firebreak when it comes out... 4/4

P.S. I highly recommend that video if you haven't seen it.

I just finished Quantum Break, and much like Alan Wake I'm just obsessing over the choices they made in the design. From Visuals and Story to the Enemy design and Abilities.
Visually I just love the fracture effects, even the ripple effects you see often are just beautiful... 3/4

This then pushed me to want to try the real of the games Remedy have worked on, prior to this only really having played Max Payne. I almost jumped straight into Alan Wake 2 but instead I decided to play their main games in order of release, bringing me to now. Quantum Break... 2/4

Yeah that's so fair. The Q3 is such a solid device, I just hate the Meta ecosystem 😂

Honestly I'm incredibly excited for not only the VR side of the device but if they are going the way I expect I'm excited for a Deckard from a almost cinema style Steamdeck. Massive potential for playing traditional games and media

Febuary 28th - Hourglass
I titled this "Out of Time" as I posted it like 11:35pm on the 28th

Febuary 27th - Quill
This is the render I was least happy with. I played around with a hair sim for the first time and just couldn't get it to look good in such a short timeframe
