I should clarify that my LotR re-read is mostly via the audiobook. Andy Serkis is a pretty wonderful narrator, and he puts everything behind belting out Tom Bombadil's many songs, to the point where I can almost feel a mist of jolly spittle on my cheek. I've never hated him more
