Does the state even know who is on SNAP and who isn't? How are they going to send them the money / put it on their benefit card?
I'm pretty sure its direct federal funding instead of one of the ones where the State acts as an intermediary, so even if they could allocate the money, then what?

I grew up in an "Apostolic Fellowship" -- like go read the book of Acts and try to do that to the letter. It started in '69 as blowback to the hippy movement by a bunch of Lutheran pastors. This was small 'c' communism, but you aren't wrong about it hiding the abuses at the top.

Growing up in a strict Biblical group, it was absolutely understood that we were conservative and would side with the government, not the rebellion, no matter what. And that would include not opposing things like monarchy or slavery.
The majority of everyone was white former-Lutheran. 🤷♂️

The epistles have never sat well with me. They are a bunch of letters by a convert who never met the man but "saw God". Where they line up with Jesus' teaching they are okay, but they say a lot of stuff that Jesus never said and sometimes seem to go against him.
Why these and not other apocrypha?
