Aye. In the case of some off-label uses, it's sort of understandable, things like immunosuppressants that need monitoring cos potential side effects etc but in many cases it's lazy & arrogant - with a side bigotry ofc

GPs can refuse to prescribe anything on that basis - it's supposed to protect patients & GPs but ... the most bizarre case I've known was refusal to prescribe low dose aspirin for migraine prevention recommended by consultant neurologist (absent of contraindications)

the idea that you can just talk bigots out of bigotry if you try hard enough is bullshit.
in fact I'd argue from personal experience that pushing back on them directly like that gives them the opportunity to play resistance and only further entrenches them in hateful belief systems.
