Tactile, satisfying UI is my favorite thing in the world. I had a great time with the more supernatural feeling elements of this one, drawing on both the steampunk-inspired metallic gears and levers as well as the ghostly whispers of Corvo's powers.

I don't think of myself as a composer, but I had the Balatro music burned into my brain for so long that I just had to take a swing at it! All of this playing card foley was recorded on my mousepad, with a real deck of cards from the actual Bellagio in Las Vegas!

Some of my favorites from later in the project included Animal Well, a super vibe-heavy puzzle focused metroidvania that I was obsessed with when it came out. Something I really loved about the game's original sound design was how foreign and alien the soundscape of the Well feels.

the only thing that has kept it out of my top five favorite rpgs is that there’s no real motion sickness reduction mode, or even really a headbob reducer. the game itself is phenomenal but i shouldn’t literally need seasickness patches to ride a horse or open a door

gran turismo 4 on the ps2. the soundtrack, the time trials, nürburgring… such an incredible sense of progression. it is still the only racing game to ever have a hold on me like that

i think the coolest thing they consciously do about their worldbuilding is to not have any “faceless” organizations, no matter what. every group is clearly and directly represented by an in-game character with a name & motivations and that will ALWAYS do more for me
