Colin, I forget, do you have prosopagnosia (face blindness)? I knew at least three engineers at Google who did, and I can only clearly remember the identity of one.

I do the same thing, but usually it’s because of similar age and facial features — similar names just make it worse.

But retrieving the data DOGE ordered deleted from government-funded research projects, re-starting longitudinal studies that had followed patients for decades, restoring faith that international students will have opportunities and not be jailed — these can’t be overturned quickly if at all.

I’d be happy to “swap issues” with someone who ISN’T paralyzed by the the implications for “my” issues, and instead advocate on behalf of an issue someone else finds similarly paralyzing. We swap.

Can anyone relate? Or is this just a me oddity I need to buck up and get over?
