I don’t know what took me so long, but after 40+ years, I finally watched The Thing and damn, what a ride. A master class in tension, paranoia, and perfectly timed jump scares. Carpenter really had the horror game in a chokehold with this one.

I have read all of Alice Feeneys books, but I really struggled with “good bad girl” I just couldn’t stay engaged. Now I feel I’m behind the rest of the class because she has a new one out and I don’t wanna start it until I finish the last one. Not that they are canonical or anything.

I went to the Jimmy Carter public visitation in the Capitol Rotunda last night. My friend and I arrived around 9pm. It was below 20 degrees with the wind chill.
Wait time? 3.5 hours. Thousands of people were waiting outside in the freezing cold for hours late at night to honor Jimmy Carter.
